The short version: you own everything we build for you. Unless you're on the Concierge plan, you maintain it.
- Who we are. IslandBuiltAI (“we”, “us”), Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Contact: (778) 400-5885, support@islandbuiltai.ca. We build websites, brands, listings, advertising, and AI receptionist services for Vancouver Island trades and home-service businesses.
- Standalone packages — you maintain what you own. Every package except the AI Concierge plan is standalone. We build it, set it up, and hand it over — you own it outright, and maintaining it is your responsibility. That includes renewing your domain, paying your hosting, updating your website, managing your ad accounts and ad spend, keeping your business listings accurate, and monitoring your reviews. If something breaks, lapses, or stops working because it wasn't maintained, that's on you — fixes are available as billable work. This applies to: Website & Brand ($1,070), Get Found ($1,570), Grow ($2,000), the Island Built build ($2,500), AI Receptionist ($250/mo), and Online Marketing ($500/mo).
- AI Concierge plan ($500/month). The Concierge plan is our maintenance plan. While you're subscribed and paid up, we maintain what we built: the Maya voice receptionist service, AI service fees, web hosting, email hosting, custom-made ads, a $100/month marketing fund, a monthly performance report, and priority support. If you cancel, maintenance responsibility reverts to you under section 3 the day the plan ends. Month-to-month — cancel anytime.
- You own everything. Your website, domain, brand files, ad accounts, and business data are yours. We never hold them hostage. If you leave, we hand over credentials and files.
- Payment. All prices in Canadian dollars, GST extra. Advertising spend is billed directly by Google and Meta and is never included in our prices. One-time build fees are due as agreed before work completes. Monthly plans are billed monthly. We only ever charge what you explicitly authorize — no auto-charge, no surprise renewals.
- Refunds and cancellation. Monthly plans: cancel anytime; no refunds for partial months. One-time builds: non-refundable once build work has started.
- The AI disclaimer. Maya is an artificial intelligence, not a person. She can misunderstand callers, make mistakes, or be unreachable during outages and maintenance. We're not liable for missed calls, misbooked jobs, or business lost during downtime. You remain responsible for your own customers — carry your own business insurance.
- No guaranteed outcomes. We don't promise specific call volumes, lead counts, search rankings, or revenue. Marketing results vary.
- Fair use. Plans cover normal use for one business. Excessive, abusive, or resold use may be throttled, surcharged, or ended.
- Your responsibilities. Give us accurate business information, keep your contact details current, comply with the laws that apply to your business (including Canada's anti-spam law for any messaging), and treat our people with basic decency.
- Limitation of liability. To the maximum allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. We're never liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost profits.
- Termination. Either side can end a monthly plan anytime. We can end service immediately for non-payment, abuse, fraud, or illegal activity.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
- Changes. We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept them. We'll flag material changes where you've given us contact details.
